However, its epistemological foundation remains a subject of scholarly debate, particularly regarding the integration of revelation and scientific knowledge within the framework of ?Ul?m al-Qur'an. This article examines the reconstruction of the epistemology of scientific Qur'anic exegesis by exploring its conceptual foundations, sources of knowledge, and interpretive methodology through a qualitative library research approach. The study analyzes classical and contemporary literature on Qur'anic sciences, scientific exegesis, and the relationship between revelation and science. The findings indicate that scientific Qur'anic exegesis should be grounded in authentic scriptural sources, established scientific knowledge, and sound interpretive principles to avoid speculative interpretations. Consequently, an integrative epistemological framework enables scientific exegesis to remain faithful to the primary objectives of the Qur'an while maintaining relevance to contemporary scientific developments.
Moh.samsul ma'arif Copyright (c) 2026 JADID: Journal of Quranic Studies and Islamic Communication http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0 https://ejournal.unkafa.ac.id/index.php/JADID/article/view/2007 Thu, 01 Oct 2026 12:27:23 +0700
