Abstract
Productive zakat is giving zakat that can make recipients produce something continuously with the zakat assets they have received. Empowering mustahik is the main goal of zakat distribution. Productive zakat is considered to be able to overcome the main problem directly from the root of the problem, namely capital problems.
The approach used in this research is a qualitative approach with a conceptual approach, namely the phenomena that occur in the field are studied using the concepts of experts relating to cash waqf. Based on the research results, the concept of productive utilization of zakat implemented at Z-mart Al-Qurba does not have an effective impact on empowering mustahik. Because the distribution of productive zakat taken from sales profits is not given 100% to mustahik, this is certainly not the same as the texts and statements of ulama which say that zakat is only given to mustahik, not distributed as salary for their management.
