PRAXEOLOGICAL ANALYSIS OF THE TEXTBOOK AL-'ARABIYYAH LIL-NISHI'N

Abstract

Arabic textbooks have a crucial role in supporting the learning process at various levels of education. As the main source of teaching materials, textbooks not only serve as a reference for students, but also as a guide for educators in designing effective learning strategies. In this context, this study aims to analyse the Al-'Arabiyyah Lil-N?shi'?n textbook with a praxiological approach and identify didactical obstacles in the textbook. This study uses a library research method with a qualitative descriptive approach that focuses on analysing Al-'Arabiyyah Lil-N?shi'?n. The praxeological framework developed by Chevallard was applied in assessing the structure of the textbook through four main components: task type, technique, technology, and theoretical justification. The results show that although the book has been systematically structured according to the principles of language learning, there are still some didactic obstacles that hinder its optimal effectiveness. One of the main obstacles is the vagueness of instructions which can cause confusion for learners in completing the given tasks. In addition, the lack of relevant examples also contributes to students' low understanding of the concepts learnt.
