Abstract
Abstract: This article discusses the internalization of pesantren culture in schools as a crucial step in integrating the values and teachings of pesantren into the formal education system. It aims to build students' character, deepen religious understanding, and create a more holistic education. Pesantren culture encompasses religious learning, character development, and emphasizes moral values such as discipline, responsibility, and simplicity. The research design employs a qualitative case study approach, with data collection techniques including semi-structured interviews, participant observation, and documentary studies at the Madrasah. The process of internalizing pesantren culture involves integrating religious teachings into the formal education curriculum and shaping students' characters. Despite challenges, such as differing religious views among students and their families, the internalization of pesantren culture in schools has significant benefits in fostering deep religious understanding, developing strong character, and promoting high ethics. It also encourages tolerance and appreciation for diversity in an increasingly diverse society. This article provides insights into the process of internalizing pesantren culture in schools and its implications for shaping the characters of Indonesian students. Due to the case study approach, the generalization of research results may be limited to the studied context and may not be directly applicable to the national education context..
