Abstract
Islam, as a comprehensive teaching, encompasses all aspects of human life, including economic activity. Fiqh muamalah regulates all human economic activities, including production, consumption, and distribution. As social beings, humans are constantly confronted with change, including in their tendencies and actions. In agriculture, many changes occur due to environmental changes. In Banjar Village, Widang District, Tuban Regency, there is local wisdom in the agricultural industry called the practice of seropolohan. In practice, landowners enter into a work agreement with the Village-Owned Enterprise (BUMDES) for irrigation. Through this agreement, landowners receive water supplies from the BUMDES in exchange for a percentage share of the harvest. In this article, the author collected data related to the practice of seropolohan in Banjar Village, Widang District, Tuban Regency through interviews and observations. The field findings were used as material to describe the practice of seropolohan in its entirety. Then, the practice was analyzed using the theory of the ijarah contract in Islamic law.
